Michelle, Dave G. and I had planned to climb Mt. Shasta, and had worked out all the logistics. Unfortunately the weather forecast was for thunderstorms. We gave serious thought to going up anyway (and in retrospect we probably would have made it) but ended up doing a hike at Castle Crags. The next day we went to Mt. Lassen, climbed the Giant Cinder Cone, and did a short hike on Mt. Lassen itself, in deep snow, in a snowstorm.
