Web sites kinda like this one

As they age, some people feel a desire to write down their views on Life, in a way that can be read by other people, present and future. The Web provides a way of doing this.

Systems like Substack and Wordpress are designed for this. But some people - like me - prefer to roll our own. There are various reasons; we might like to design our own sites, or we might want to avoid depending on a corporation.
