Maryse, Rob and I drive to Mill Valley.
We park on Cascade Drive,
then cross the street to the Dipsea trailhead.
The first half mile or so is a bunch of long stairscases:
kind of a brutal start to a hike.
This tops out at Panoramic Hwy,
then the Dipsea Trail proper descends a mile or so
down to Muir Woods.
Rob looking kinda suspicious
They charge admission even for hikers,
but fortunately my Eagle Pass gets us in for free.
We walk through the park, then turn right on Fern Creek Trail
and go up the side of the valley.
We pass and are passed by a hispanic family who are rapid hikers.
A 10-year-old girl has woven jumbo clover into her hair: adorable.
Finally I switch to warp drive and pass everyone emphatically,
including my companions.
I wait for them at a junction.
We continue on Lost Trail,
then on a trail that parallels the main road,
then on the road and some streets.
Descending all the stairs is very hard on Maryse's knees.
In fact it's a wake-up call to see an orthopedist.
